April 20, 1889 - Adolf Hitler was born on this
date. He was born at the Gasthof zum Pommer, an inn located at Salzburger Vorstadt
15, Braunau am Inn, Austria-Hungary. It was a town on the border with Bavaria, Germany. He was born to Alois Hitler (father)
and Klara Hitler (mother). Their pictures are shown to the left.
March 1922 - This date is the date that started all of this. Like the Hitler Youth and the members and the leaders. On this date Hitler officially created the very first Nazi Part Youth Group. This was later named Hitler-Jugend (HJ). Not many kids showed up on this date though, many children started joining in 1926.
August 19/20, 1927 - On this date, Gruber lead 300 Hitler Youths in a march. And, this happened all at Nuremburg Rally. Kurt Gruber, who impressed Hitler with his organizational talent, was officially proclaimed as its first leader. By the end of 1927, a further requirement was that Hitler Youths turning 18 had to join the storm troopers. However, this resulted in too many untrained leaders within the upper echelons of the Hitler Youth.
June 1933 - Schirach is named Youth Leader of the German Reich. He was also given an SA rank of Gruppenführer. Gruppenführer means “group leader”. His full name was, Baldur von Schirach. Some people think that Adolf Hitler fired Schirach to lead Hitler Youth. However, Schirach asked Adolf Hitler to allow him to create an independent youth movement.
August 2, 1934 - With the death of German President Paul von Hindenburg, Chancellor Adolf Hitler becomes the dictator of Germany. Germans started calling him “Fuhrer”. Fuhrer means leader. Also on this date, the German army took an oath of allegiance to its new commander-in-chief. This oath was that the last remnants of Germany's democratic government were ripped to pieces to make way for Hitler's Third Reich.
September 15, 1935 - Hitler’s government introduces Race Laws. German Jews have their rights taken away from them. Jews and non-Jews are no longer allowed to get married. Also, they have been given the title of “subjects”. Also, Aryan started to be a person with blond hair and blue eyes of Germanic heritage.
March 25, 1939 - The Nazis publicized the Second Hitler Youth Law. The law is very famous. But, mostly for the all of the detail defining membership in the Hitler Youth Camps. The Law begins by declaring that "Service in the Hitler Youth is honorary service to the German people." The Law clearly states that German children must join the Hitler Youth at age 10 and serve through age 18 years.
April 20, 1945 - Hitler’s 56th birthday. For a last time, all leaders of the Regime meet in the New Reich Chancellery. In the afternoon Hitler decorates several Hitler Youth Boys. Under an increasing nervousness most of the government members leave Berlin still that evening. After the end of the official event and in absence of Hitler, Eva Braun continues celebrating together with the bunker personnel.
April 30, 1945 - Hitler committed suicide. Luckily, something else wonderful happened nine days after his death. The war in Europe ended! Finally, the Jews were released form their dreadful lives at the concentration camps. Some say that if Hitler didn't suicide, the Jews would've probably have been wiped out.
October 1, 1946 - After devastating World War 2, Nuremberg held trials. And, this day in the timeline is when ex Hitler Youth Leader was in the trial. His name was Schirach. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The crime was “crimes against humanity”.
